On the Power of Prayer

Psalm 62:5

Where do you go when you feel stress? Where do you go when you feel afraid? When you feel uncertainty grab you in its grasp? People go to all different kinds of places and seek out different people to find refuge from their troubles, stress, sadness. Some people find refuge in the partners, kids might find refuge in the parents, some may even look to friends. But in my personal experience the best place to find refuge and feel safe is with the Lord in prayer. It is only through prayer that my stress, sadness, and confusion can find an outlet and where I can find the answers that I seek.

I learned this lesson in 2020 when the coronavirus pandemic was taking over the planet. Now I already knew that prayer was a great way to communicate with God and let my anxieties go, the Bible says it: Casting all your cares upon Him for he careth for you (1 Peter 5:7). The Bible advises us to not be anxious about anything but to pray:

(6) Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer

and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

(7) And the peace of God which surpasseth all understanding,
